William Shatner, better known as Captain James T. Kirk of Star Trek fame was recently banned from the social network Google+ for "violating standards."
The actor tweeted on his page, "My Google+ account was flagged for violating standards," he tweeted early Monday morning. "Saying hello to everyone apparently is against the rules maybe I should say goodbye?"
Google+ initially allowed entry by invite only though later users could invite their friends to join their 'circles'. Now, two weeks post its launch, the network has not only picked up many users but is also trying to be discerning about those who join the network.
Tech blog TechCrunch quoted a Google+ user who believed that Shatner's suspension was the result of an overzealous group of followers who thought the former Captain Kirk's profile was a fake.
Hours after the tweet, however, Shatner was back on Google Plus, Toronto Sun reported.
