Here's what Miss K did all through the week.
Screen test for a big banner youth film. I was told to wear a white top and jeans, and was asked a few questions on camera. While waiting with half a dozen girls dressed in white and blue, I spotted a red line demarcating the waiting area from the casting directors office and a warning that categorically said ‘Do not cross the red line!’ #Stampedes.
Morning yoga class. What I love about yoga is the union of body, mind and soul. I feel more powerful, calm and self-aware with it. #Gaga about yoga!
Screen test for a toothpaste ad. Had to enact being saved from falling in a bus by a guy with great breath! Could hear voices in my head saying #paas aao, paas aao… Next, film audition. This was the second round for a yuppie youth film I tested for last week. I sat in my car for an hour rehearsing my lines, till I was ready. Most actors spend hours on their hair and make up, but neglect the most important component for a great performance — #mental preparation! The guy who took my audition thought I looked like Megan Fox… #compliment of the century! Now if that wasn’t enough to get me the part, I don’t know what is!
I was called back for the final look test… I had made it to the next round! #The (FO)X factor. It’s scorching hot, but it sure is raining film auditions! Had yet another for a new production house and director. The team seemed genuine. The director gave me an elaborate brief; three small scenes and four whole hours later I was finally done! #Time flies! I had to get home and prepare four scenes for the look test the next day! #Homework
An audition tests whether you can act. Once you pass that, there’s a look test where they experiment with different make up to ensure that you ‘look’ the part. All the shortlisted actors were called in and paired with each other to see whether the couples ‘looked’ good together. The director guided us. The final decision will be revealed on May 10. Going by the call time, I was the first girl to be called in, so I’m guessing I’m amongst the director’s first preferences. #Optimism. Lets hope I get called back from one of these auditions or else I just might have to storm into film offices, cutting across the red line! #Breaking into Bollywood.
