On Monday, Ajay Devgn found himself in an embarrassing situation when he addressed the Railways Minister, Mamta Banerjee, as the Information and Broadcasting Minister. But Devgn, who made the goof up while speaking at the inauguration of the International Film Festival of India (2010), isn’t alone — several other Bollywood stars have made such bloopers in the past.

On Prithviraj Chavan’s appointment as the new CM-designate of Maharashtra, Preity got his name wrong when she tweeted: “Chauhan is our new CM; He’s the namesake of a fearless Rajput King!” She was later corrected by actor Amitabh Bachchan, who tweeted: “Preity... its Chavan not Chauhan”.
The actor, who was attending a television channel’s Diwali concert, was caught off-guard when she was asked who her favourite 70’s superstar was. To this, she blurted out, "Shashi Tharoor." Fortunately for her, she realised her blunder, and corrected herself, "Oops! I mean Shashi Kapoor."
