Board exams are nearing an end, as are most of the senior class exams. This is that time of the year when you feel ‘I’m big now’... and one of the first steps to adulthood, specially for the guys, is usually learning how to ride a two-wheeler. So if you want to do it, do it right. Here are a few things you should always keep in mind:
Never start with your ‘dream machine’. Get a grip of two wheelers, set your balance on something old and then go for the one you want.
Try not to start on a heavy machine. Graduate to heavier models slowly. Chances of losing balance are more when you’re a novice. It’s okay to fall, but a lighter model means a less bruised leg.
Adjust yourself to a full-mask helmet and leather gloves right from the word go.
Start with someone expert riding pillion with you. Anyone can speed. What matters is how balanced and smooth you are. So learn to be steady before you are fully ready.
