Stop and smell the roses

HINDUSTAN TIMES

One of the grandest excuses to celebrate one of the greatest feelings in the world: Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s Day, people! Hope you mush potatoes enjoy a day filled with love, hugs, kisses and all things mushy. My advice to members of the lonely-hearts club: enjoy your freedom till it lasts.
Some profound being once said, “To love and be loved is the greatest joy of existence.” So I hope you find it, or should I say, ‘it’ finds you!

As for your struggling starlet, this was my week:
Monday—Tuesday
One of my greatest love affairs has been my love for the camera, and the love is mutual. It’s high time I updated my portfolio with newer pictures. So I decided to head to Goa with a photographer and makeup artist and just shoot!

Wednesday
Back to Mumbai, the gym, to play rehearsals, to stress!

Thursday
Yoga. A deep Shavasana to relax the brain. I’m acting in a festival film opposite the superb Atul Kulkarni! I play a Muslim wife to Atul, who plays an artist. I had a posing session for two portraits of me for the film, which I get to keep! Play rehearsal again. Only a few days to go for our big show at the Kala Ghoda festival!

Friday
Gym. Auditions. Meeting with a producer. Play rehearsals. I squeezed in two ad auditions. Got short listed for both! Hope I land one. I also met a producer; a sweet sardar, whom I had a happy hour-long chat with. He seemed impressed and said he’d love for me to come on board and join them for an upcoming film starring Priyanka Chopra, set in my hometown. Cool, no? I could do with working behind the camera watching Piggy Chops till I get my big break.

Saturday
Sloth and gluttony
The non-stop week took its toll on me. I haven’t heard from those ad audition guys yet and so I felt quite miserable. I read about the cast of the Dia-Zayed film that I had auditioned for, adding to my sulking. So I decided to indulge in some comfort food. I slept my heart out and then feasted on an unhealthy Chinese meal. Since I’d already hijacked my diet, I gave in to some sinful dessert too. It’s not often that this sleep-feast combo comes along!
