Filmmaker Subhash Ghai and Mukta Arts have cancelled the 34th anniversary celebrations of their company that was to take place on Oct 24 in Mumbai as a mark of respect for Yash Chopra.

Invitation cards and messages were sent to all guests to join celebrations at a suburban hotel. More than 300 VIP guests — including Tina Ambani, Rishi Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, Jackie Shroff, Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Manisha Koirala, Isha Sharvani, Mahima Chaudhary, Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, Perizaad and many industry veterans and big businesses houses — were supposed to join the do. “The party stands cancelled due to the sad departure of Yashji, who was a father figure for us and our industry and a real icon of Indian Cinema,” said Ghai.
