The Indian cricket team skipper will don a black suit custom made for him, by designer Narendra Kumar Ahmed, who also designed the teal blue sherwani that Dhoni wore on his wedding day.
“Dhoni’s reception outfit is a black silk wool suit with narrow lapels, made keeping in mind that he wanted a sober ensemble. The fabric has a bit of shine and the trousers are slim fitted,” says Ahmed, who knows Dhoni through actor John Abraham.
Dhoni travelled to Delhi on Monday in a humble Swift to avoid attention.
The venue and the date of the reception are yet to finalised. “Neither the venue nor the date of the reception has been final,” says Dhoni’s manager. Dhoni was also supposed to reach his hometown Ranchi on Monday night, but failed to do so, leaving a host of fans who had gathered to meet him disappointed.
