Highlight Story

With Sufi-esque Manganiar folk songs serving as background score, the dinner bash thrown to celebrate the India launch of luxury hospitality chain, Relais & Chateaux was first-rate. With chic décor, gorgeous flower arrangement and exquisite cocktails thrown in, the do hosted by Anjali and Jaisal Singh of Sujan Luxury Hotels, was quite a spectacle.

The dim-lit, white-hooded lawns at 1, Sri Aurobindo Marg, enveloped the classy wordplay guests resorted to.

As we strolled past the bar, romancing a champagne, we bumped into A-listers in bulk. While we saw Home Minister P. Chidambaram having a chat with Group Editor, English News, NDTV 24X7 Barkha Dutt over dinner, Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit was seen engaged in a conversation with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia. Media-persons Sonia Singh and Karan Thapar moved around greeting friends, as we saw Censor Board Chief Sharmila Tagore making a quiet exit with husband and former cricketer Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. The gala that boasted of a fab dinner from all five Relais properties in India, was also attended by Congress spokesperson Abhishek Manu Singhvi, Corporate Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid, hotelier Priya Paul, adman Suhel Seth and mediaperson Tarun Tejpal, among others.
