came into the limelight last year for supposedly exchanging harsh words with each other.
Reports suggest that Anushka said, "Sushant has only eight days of work (in Rajkumar Hirani’s next)... he is just a small chapter in my life." To that, Sushant had replied, "I will have to check the schedule to know exactly how many days I am shooting… I come from the school of actors who believe there are no small roles, there are only small actors."
Now, Sushant clears the air about the 'misunderstanding', and tells us why he is trying to connect with his fans.
Despite a war of words last year, Anushka was the first actor to welcome you on Twitter.
It was a really sweet gesture. Initially, we had a slight misunderstanding, but it was blown out of proportion. We had a laugh about it when we got to know each other. We have a great working relationship. She is an intelligent, fun and effortless actor.
Many feel that by joining Twitter, you are coming out of your shell and trying to shed your ‘reclusive’ image.
There are a few reasons why I joined Twitter. It’s important to connect with the audience directly. They invest in you — emotionally and financially — so they have a right to express their views, ask questions or give feedback.
Also, sometimes, your silence can be misunderstood, leading to rumours about projects and relationships, and that can hurt you. Plus, it’s interesting to involve your audience in the process of you acquiring a new skill. I am doing the same in my #TilliGetItRight videos (in which he attempts various challenges), and it’s great fun.
How do you like this direct interaction with your fans on Twitter?
Well, it was due for a long time. There is a sense of responsibility and accountability that you feel when you directly communicate with people.
Your new film’s teaser has got a good response.
Yes, the response has been overwhelming and I am very excited about it. Even I didn’t see any frame while shooting, so it’s as new for me as for everyone else. I have a lot of expectations from this film because of the kind of script it has, and also because my experience of working with Dibakar (Banerjee; director) was great.
