Highlight Story

It’s not common for actors to meet each other for the first time on the sets of the film they are working together it. While some may hit it off right from the start, some others take a while to get along with their co-stars. Filmmaker Nikhil Advani is setting a date for the lead pair of his next, Patiala House, so they are comfortable with each other before they start shooting next year.

According to a source associated with the movie, “Nikhil is setting up a dinner date between Akhshay Kumar and Anushka Sharma in a five star hotel in Mumbai. He wants to ensure that they spend enough time in each other’s company and get to know each other to avoid any initial awkwardness the two might have, when the film goes on the floors next year.” And no, Kumar’s wife Twinkle need not worry about her husband’s date with his actress. Because, if need be, she too will be asked to join the Patiala House jodi, so that her presence will make Anushka even more comfortable and at ease, says our source.

When contacted to confirm his date-setting, Advani laughed and said, “Yes, I’m planning to send Akshay and Anushka for dinner so that they get to know each other since they haven’t worked together before.” The filmmaker, who thinks that his hero and heroine haven’t even met socially, added, “This will help break the ice. And if the co-actors are familiar with each other, then it helps bring out good chemistry on the screen.”
