As Amitabh and Jaya Bachchan celebrate 41 years of togetherness on Tuesday, the star took to social media to share his thoughts on the occasion. As his wife and children are travelling, Amitabh said there will be no celebrations but their hearts stayed together.
Amitabh and Jaya married on June 3, 1973 in a quiet ceremony which only family and few friends attended.
He began a countdown to his anniversary on Monday night when he tweeted, "In a few minutes June 3, marriage anniversary. .. 41 years !!"
He followed it up with another tweet where he said, "Devoid of any celebration, devoid of presence, just devoid …Wife away out of country, children travelling... but hearts together (sic)."
He also thanked people for their wishes on Twitter.
On his blog, the 71-yer-old actor wrote, "You see a picture, you work together, you spend time, you decide, you marry .. you have children, you have grandchildren, and you realise that there are not many that are blessed so .. so you thank the Almighty, the times of the day and the unknown force that brings all this together."
He called all wives "the rulers, the future, the ones that shall be obeyed to .. they are the women the female, the better half of mankind .. and they are indeed superior!"
He dedicated his blog to all ardhanginis who "bring harmony and composure, they acknowledge the growth of the members of this new surname, they mind the home and the hearth .. !! They are quite quite unique !!"
Abhishek Bachchan also tweeted about his parents anniversary and posted their image. He wrote, "My parents anniversary today. 41 years and still going strong. Love you guys."
