Vote counting has begun and a few victories have also been announced. Going by intial trends, BJP-led NDA is in for a landslide victory.
Bollywood, which has been strongly divided into pro and anti-Modi groups, came out to either offer congratulations or brickbats to BJP's PM candidate. For everyone who said Bollywood was divided into camps, there's proof here.
Karan Johar called the BJP win "the blockbuster of the year.
Rajinikanth also congratulated Modi on Twitter.
Lata Mangeshkar, who had courted controversy earlier by openly supporting Modi, also congratulated the PM designate.
Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan, who is often seen with the Gandhi siblings, also talked about the "solid mandate" in his tweet.
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma tweeted, "R I P Gandhi dynasty Born as Nehru 1947 Died as Rahul 2014."
Actor Rajat Kapoor questioned the two films releasing today -- Godzilla and The Expose.
Actor and BJP candidate Hema Malini shared her happiness on Twitter: "Modi wave is for real! BJP getting huge majority! Leading all over India!"
Shekhar Kapur tweeted, "Finally a stable Govt at centre in India not mired in coalition politics? If so, a huge opportunity for @narendramodi 2 deliver promises." The filmmaker added, "End of era of feudal politics. Dynastic politics. A new India. A new opportunity. A new future. Let' it not go waste @narendramodi congrats."

Actor Soha Ali Khan is simply happy that the results will finally be out on Friday, putting an end to the dirtiest election fight ever in the country. She tweeted, "Looking forward to the end of months of mud-slinging and sloganeering - time for actions to speak louder than words."
