Farah Khan has not been keeping well for the past few days. The film-maker-choreographer, who had confirmed her presence at a charity event in the city, fell prey to a bout of viral fever recently. However, she did not want to back out from the function at the last hour. So she made an SOS call to friend Vivek Oberoi to attend the event on her behalf.
"She called me to check if I can somehow make up for her absence. And since I am very close to all charitable work, I rejigged my schedule a bit and made it to the do," says Vivek.
He adds, "I had told them (the organisers) that since everything was happening at the last minute, I would be a little late (for a 12 noon event). I reached around 12.45 and was there till 1.45," adds the Krrish 3 actor.
Ask Vivek about why Farah chose him out of all her friends in the industry to fill in for her and he says, "Firstly, she told me, 'I know how emotionally you are attached to charity. So I know you will go out of the way to do it.' And secondly, not many are aware that I have known her for the longest time."
The Grand Masti actor adds that Farah has known him since the time he was a "struggling dancer". "She is like family to me. I remember talking to her and learning from her about dance even before I became an actor. So she is like my guru," says Vivek, who is currently going through scripts to choose his next film. "I am in no hurry. I will choose my new films with a lot of precision and care," he adds.
