Hollywood bombshell Scarlett Johansson will be seen playing the Black Widow in the much-awaited action thriller, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, that readies for its India release (on April 4).
The film is releasing in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D, in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu, besides English. The international media is abuzz about the movie, with Hollywood Reporter saying that the action is voluminous.
Read on to know more from the Black Widow herself:
Talk about working with Chris Evans in this film. There seems to be a hint at a romance.
More than anything, I think that the relationship between Cap and Widow is one that becomes a friendship and that is way more interesting than a romantic relationship. Black Widow has so many trust issues that the last thing on her mind is, Man, I wish I had a boyfriend. Steve Rogers (the character) is an attractive guy, but I think she’s learning how to be herself — whoever herself is.
What does Black Widow bring to the table?
Like Fury (Nick Fury, played by Samuel L Jackson) tells Steve Rogers, she does things that he won’t do. She doesn’t ask questions; she just follows orders.
Are you more badass due to the increasing level of action you’re doing?
Yes, thanks to Heidi Moneymaker, my stunt double. For me, just having done three films so far with Marvel with the same stunt crew, I know the ins and outs; I feel more comfortable in my body, and more comfortable fighting. I even feel more comfortable hanging 60 feet in the air.
Kids now look up to you as an action hero.
This character has such a specific look on-screen. So when I’m in my plain clothes and I’m with my friends’ kids, they’re like, "You’re not the Black Widow. Where’s your red hair? Where’s your suit?" So, luckily, I don’t have to worry about all the pressure that comes with being a role model for young people, which is never anything I intended to be.
