Actor Sidharth Malhotra has brushed aside the rumour about a tiff with his first co-star and friend, Varun Dhawan.
"We tried calling each other names… abusing, fighting, and then started laughing… we can never have a tiff," says the 29-year-old, warning us to not believe everything that is said online. It was reported that the two actors got into a fight at film-maker Karan Johar’s birthday bash last month.
"Online, it says I am Mr Gujarat and that I am from Surat. I have no idea how this weird rumour started… so that’s the sad part; people believe whatever is written online, and it’s scary at times," says Sidharth, reiterating that the tiff with Varun is also a similar rumour.

"People just pit Varun and me against each other to create rumours, whereas he has actually been complimenting me on my upcoming release. I, too, have liked the trailer of his next film. We are really good friends, and that holds true for all three of us… Varun, Alia (Bhatt) and me," he says.
Sidharth adds, "I wish they’d ask us before creating rumours. It doesn’t affect me anymore. The more time you spend in this industry, the more you realise that you can’t control such things. You have to turn a blind eye."
