While everyone seems sad about bidding farewell to Sachin Tendulkar from international cricket, Olympic medalist MC Mary Kom feels one should look at the brighter side.

“Everyone has to retire one day. Of course, we are really upset because he has done so much for the country, brought so many laurels ... but at the end of the day, it is his decision. It’s good if youngsters who are inspired by him come up and fill his shoes. It is very difficult and at the same time very important for the country,” says the 30-year-old boxer, hopeful that someone from the younger crop of cricketers will soon turn a legend like the Master Blaster himself.

I am a sportsperson; I don’t want to involve myself in Bollywood,” she clears.

Actor Priyanka Chopra has been training for the role of Kom in the film, and the latter is happy about how it’s coming along. “She has been working really hard ... the boxing must have been hardcore. The movie is almost done. The script is based on my history but there will be some masala or romance too,” she says, raising not the slightest objection to it.
