Film-maker Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra has rubbished reports that former sprinter Milkha Singh is upset with him, and says there is no problem between them.
The reports had stated that Singh was disappointed after Mehra did not keep his promise of donating a certain amount of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag’s (2013) profit to the athlete’s charity trust. Singh had reportedly sold the rights to his biopic for Rs. 1.

Mehra, however, says Singh was misquoted. “I read the story a few days ago. The media likes to sensationalise [things]. I can’t do anything about it. I spoke to Jeev (Milkha Singh’s son) about it... He said he is upset because his father was misquoted,” the director says.
The National Award-winning film, starring Farhan Akhtar, was inspired by Singh’s autobiography, The Race of My Life.
