Tanushree DuttaBorn and brought up in Jamshedpur, Tanushree Dutta moved to Mumbai to try her luck as a model. She won the Miss India contest in 2004. Like many pageant winners before her, Tanushree took up Bollywood offers. Her debut flick, Aashiq Banaya Apne opposite Emran Hashmi, was a hit. What would you do if Superman paid you a visit?
Serve him a seven course meal because that’s the only way I would ever get to spend quality time with him.

The craziest rumour you have heard about yourself?
That I had left the industry and was getting married.

If you were stranded on a desert island and could keep five things with you, what would you choose?
Hand sanitiser; satellite phone; instant noodles; my favourite pillow and all my clothes.

The one show you don’t like to miss on TV?
So You Think You Can Dance and Uttran.

You have faith in?
God and my willpower to create my own destiny.

The turning point of your life?
Winning the Miss India crown.

What drives you up the wall?
Mumbai traffic.

What do you do in a crisis?
Call my parents for guidance.

If you could go back in time, which period of history would you go back to and why?
The Mughal era. I loved the way they dressed, the lifestyle they had and the grandeur of the period.

Three places you love shopping in?
Dubai, London and New York.

The wickedest prank you ever pulled on anyone?
When I was staying in a hostel in Pune, we went to our seniors’ room one night, tied a rope to their beds and then shook the beds really hard. They thought it was an earthquake and they all ran downstairs in whatever they were wearing.

Your exercise routine?
Cardio and weight training three times a week. The other days of the week, I do Ashtanga yoga.

One place you really want to visit and why ?
Venice. It’s just such an awesome place and everyone says you should visit it before it gets submerged under water.
