Before entering Bigg Boss 7, Pratyusha Banerjee made headlines when she filed an FIR against her boyfriend Makrand Malhotra.
It shocked everyone as it was only days after her birthday, which the couple had celebrated with gusto. There were insinuations that Pratyusha did it to get attention on the reality show. But when we ask the lady in question, she clarifies all rumours.
"It was never a publicity stunt. The case is sorted now. It’s been five months, and everything is okay. He’s happy in his life, and I am happy in mine."
After filing the FIR, accusing Makrand of misbehaving with her and her father, Pratyusha says, "I told the cops not to arrest or harm him. I only wanted them to give him a last warning and ask him to stay away from me, which he has done."
Though Pratyusha did mention him on the reality show saying she missed him, she says she’s not been in touch with him after exiting the show. Post her stint on
the reality show, Pratyusha Banerjee has signed a Bengali film. While she’s looking at television offers, she says she took up this film for her father.
"My dad wanted me to do a regional film in my language. I can fluently speak Bengali and it will be fun." Pratyusha will be shooting for the film in February in Kolkata. She adds, "It’s not a mainstream film but a serious drama with a social message. I play a young, married girl who has to deal with several issues. The film is neither a love story nor a comedy."
Pratyusha claims that there are other popular actors in the film too. "It’s a performance-driven role. I am glad that I will get to learn a lot. After Balika Vadhu, the makers felt I was right for the role, they approached me."
If you think she has quit TV, Pratyusha affirms, "I love TV, and am happy doing TV shows. I can promise that I’ll be back on TV soon."
