Just Dance beats India’s Got Talent 3

If you switched on your TV sets on Saturday evening between 9 pm and 12 am, you’d have no option but to agree Shah Rukh Khan dominated the tube that night. He appeared on the finale episodes of three reality shows on top Hindi general entertainment channels — India’s Got Talent 3, Just Dance and Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs - as a guest. Among the three, Just Dance garnered the highest numbers, followed by Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Li’l Champs and India’s Got Talent 3 respectively.

India’s Got Talent 3’s opening numbers (3.91) in August were a few notches higher than Hrithik’s show’s opening figures (3.7) and were, at that time, the highest recorded figures for a reality TV show featuring Bollywood names. Eventually, tables turned. Strangely, none of these ‘talked about’ shows made it to the top 10 chart issued yesterday by TAM India, the official body that records the progress of channels and shows across Indian television.

The top three shows this week are Saathiya (Star Plus) with 6.23 points, followed by Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 5 with 4.45 and Bade Acche Lagte Hain (both on Sony Entertainment) with 4.42 points. Among reasons pointed out were that all shows aired on weekends, when the numbers are usually not high. Also, the shows weren’t doing as well at that point of time.
