Talk of TV's overdose, and it'll be tough to beat this one. Comedian Kapil Sharma ruled the small screen on Sunday evening -- being the guest on Kaun Banega Crorepati's opening act with Amitabh Bachchan on Sony TV, and hosting his Comedy Nights With Kapil on Colours. Turns out, Kapil the guest is far more fun than Kapil the host.

Without doubt one of TV's draws currently, Kapil was doing what he does best on both the channels at the same time. Priyanka Chopra, along with debutant director Omung Kumar, were the guests on Comedy Nights with Kapil to promote their upcoming film Mary Kom. Gutthi and Palak did their usual fare of welcome songs, buffalo jokes and Kapil, too carried out the now-predictable pranks on the sets.

Kapil the guest, on the other hand, was far more entertaining. What with Amitabh Bachchan sharing the screen with him, the actor-comedian had some refreshingly new things to say.

Sample a few:

On being quizzed when the battle of Panipat was fought, Kapil started on a long-winding rant on how men are being discriminated on the sets of KBC because they are always asked the toughest questions. It was obvious that Kapil had no clue about the answer but the way he tried to mask it left everybody amused.

"When there's a heroine on the hot seat, your questions are like what is the colour of a rose? And now that I am here, you're asking when was the battle of Panipat fought! Ask me when my parents fought. I could tell you that for sure!"

Talking about Amitabh's promo for KBC 8 (Koi bhi insaan chota nahi hota), Kapil said, "Amitabhji kehte hain koi bhi insaan chota nahi hota. I disagree. Maine ja ke yahi baat Rajpal Yadav ko bol diya, usne mujhe marne ki koshish ki, ye baat aur hai ki uska haath mujh tak pahuncha nahi!"

Amitabh, too was at his jovial best and that ensured that Kapil as the guest was much more fun than Kapil the host. Indeed, it was very refreshing to see two of TV's most loved personalities engage in friendly banter just to spike the entertainment quotient.
