Kissing on television seems a sure way to get viewers’ attention.
Ram Kapoor and Sakshi Tanwar did it on their show Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, and found themselves in the eye of a social media storm, while Do Dil Ek Jaan milked the edited kiss for all its worth in the media and never aired it.
Now, Mallika Sherawat, who is known for her bold antics and her controversial statements, has gone ahead and kissed a contestant on her reality show.
Though it is quite the norm on the international versions of reality TV shows, rarely has kissing been shown on formats adapted for Indian viewers. The Bachelorette India — Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika is an adapted version of American show, The Bachelorette.
A source says, "It’s the last leg of the show now and, with the top five contestants in the race, they all go on individual dates with Mallika."
One of the contestants, Vijay, planned a romantic evening, complete with heart-shaped seating, flowers and candles. The duo got quite cosy during this date and she ended up kissing him.
The source says, "Post her kiss, Mallika broke down, recalling her past relationships and how people have always tried to use her. She told him how she has always been expected to kiss in most of her film roles. But there is more to her than just kissing and skin show."
