Popular comic actor Sunil Grover’s recent decision to leave Kapil Sharma’s hit show, Comedy Nights With Kapil (CNWK), on which he played a much-loved character Guthhi, came as a big shock to many in the TV industry. In the wake of the incident, HT Café reported that he had been offered a show on a rival channel.
The latest we’ve come to know is that anchor-turned-actor Manish Paul has been approached to be part of the show. A source informs, “Nothing is finalised yet. Manish is keen to be part of the show but he has his films in the pipeline too. Also, since he shares a great rapport with Kapil, it is difficult for him to take a decision immediately. In fact, he was also offered to host India’s Got Talent but he turned it down due to the unavailability of dates.”
Manish and Kapil hit it off while hosting Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (JDJ) this year. The former recently made his Bollywood debut with Mickey Virus and will be seen in Tere Bin Laden 2. The details about Sunil’s show are yet to be out. Says the insider, “Although it will be a comedy series, its concept will be different from CNWK. Also, it won’t air in the same time slot as Kapil’s show,” says the source.
Both Sunil and Manish were unavailable for comment.
