Recent reports suggest that Salman Khan, who hosted the last season of the reality show Bigg Boss, has been roped in to host the upcoming, eighth season as well. However, with less than a month left for the show to go on air, the 48-year-old actor says that he’s still not sure if he will host the show.

"I have no idea. I like the format. It teaches me a lot but also takes a lot out of me. I am not too sure. Let’s see," says Salman, who ran into a controversy last year after fans accused him of being partial towards actor Tanishaa Mukerji, a participant on the show.

Ask him if he thinks anyone else will be able to host the show as well as him, and he says, "This is a simple format, anyone can do it. They will find someone to host the show, and they will do a better job (than me)."

Buzz has it that Salman, who charged Rs. 5 crore per episode last year, is being paid a much higher sum this year, given that he drives the popularity of the show with his presence and antics. However, reports also suggest that he hasn’t confirmed his participation on the show because the money bit hasn’t been decided yet.

Ask Salman if the money is proving to be a hindrance and he says, "It’s not about the money at all. The problem is that you have to put in that much of time in the show. You have to watch all episodes daily to find out what happened and why. Then the host has to analyse those situations. Despite doing your best, you still have problems with the channel and contestants," says Salman, who ran into rough verbal duels with last year’s contestants Kushal Tandon and Gauahar Khan and had to face flak from fans thereafter.

"The channel also wants you to say something and you don’t want to. It’s a lot of taam jhaam (hassle) ...a lot of stuff goes on," he says.
