Veteran actor Dalip Tahil, who plays former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on the show, recently met the newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar, and was assured by the latter that the show would be telecast on the government-run channel.
Confirming the development, Tahil says, "I was very keen that Samvidhaan be telecast on DD National, so that it’s watched by people from across the length and breadth of the country. He (Javadekar) has agreed to it."
Apart from Tahil, the historical show also features seasoned film and television actors such as Sachin Khedekar (as BR Ambedkar), Tom Alter (as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad) and Rajendra Gupta (as Rajendra Prasad) and Amit Behl (as C Rajagopalachari), among others.
The 10-episode show, which is written by Shama Zaidi and Atul Tiwari, was also made available on YouTube after it went on air on Rajya Sabha TV.
