A few days after the big fat royal wedding of the prince of Jodhpur, Shivraj Singh, the city is all set to witness another royal wedding of Abhijeet Singh and Viveka Kumari Idar. It will be a mingling of the cultures of Bihar, Rajasthan and Gujarat.
The groom is the son of NK Singh, MP (Rajya Sabha) from Bihar and Rajkumari Premkumari, the daughter of Maharaja Hari Singh of Rajasthan. The bride is the daughter of Maharaja Rajendra Singh and Maharani Prakash Kumari of Gujarat.
Giving exclusive information to HT City, wedding planner Vandana Mohan says, “The theme for the wedding, which is to be held on December 8, at the Umaid Bhawan Palace, is Rajasthani miniature paintings. We are using colours like red, orange and teal and fabrics such as silks, and brocade. The pre-wedding event on December 7 will host a performance by Pandit Jasraj on the Hari Mahal terrace. On December 9, there will be another musical evening.
The wedding card has been crafted by miniature artists. Designer Raghavendra Singh Rathore is designing the groom’s look. He says, “The brocade fabric being used for his achkan is 100 years old and uses real silver and gold plated materials for embroidery. The design is inspired from his grandfather’s attire in a photographs.” The menu on the three days prepared by a team of 15 chefs headed by chef Hemant Oberoi will cover three to four cuisines, including Italian, southern Hyderabadi and fusion, with six to eight dishes in each.
