It’s the season of pregnancies in Hollywood with many A-listers like Natalie Portman, Kate Hudson, Salma Hayek, Jessica Alba, Marion Cotillard and Alicia Silverstone expecting the pitter-patter of baby feet in the coming months. But pregnancy has got a spicier twist with the news that three out of five of the former Spice Girls band members — Emma Bunton, Victoria Beckham and Melanie Brown — are expecting babies in the next few months from each other. The fourth member, Melanie Chisholm, too has hinted at expanding her brood. Whether or not she takes inspiration from her band members is for time to tell.
Emma Bunton, aka Baby Spice, is expecting her second baby with partner Jade Jones. The 35-year-old singer-actor-dancer broke her pregnancy news in true 21st century style, on Twitter. Bunton had tweeted: “So our family grows. We are so excited to announce we’re having our second baby and Beau’s (her three-year-old son) wish for a brother or sister has come true.” The former Spice Girls band member is due in May, according to reports.
Melanie Brown, aka Scary Spice, joins her other former band mates in the mums-to-be club. She is expecting her third child. The 35-year-old singer and reality TV star is set to welcome her first child with hubby Stephen Belafonte this summer. The new arrival will join Brown’s two daughters from previous relationships — Phoenix, 12, and Angel Iris, three. Brown recently starred in a reality show called ‘Mel B: It’s a Scary World’, which hit the small screen late last year.
Victoria Beckham, aka Posh Spice, is expecting her first daughter with her soccer player hubby David Beckham, with whom she already has three sons, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, six. The 35-year-old singer-turned-fashion designer is reportedly craving for sweets and energy drinks these days, reports Mirror online. David first announced the news on his Facebook page. He exclaimed: “I’ve got some great news. Victoria and I are expecting our fourth child this summer.”
