It was a Twitter discussion about the need to have an award ceremony that was fair and transparent, and lauded the talent and genius of Hindi cinema, that someone suggested the Twitterati get together for their own awards — The Tweeple Film Awards. And thus was born the TwiFi Awards.
A brainchild of Nikhil Taneja, the TwiFi Awards is now going offline for the first time with a tweetup at 9.30 pm on Thursday at Cafe Goa, Bandra. All jury members and film buffs are invited, and the aim of the meeting is to discuss the various categories of awards. Over the next few days, the categories will be finalised. Once done, every member of the jury will individually nominate their best of the year.
The very first tweetup is being put together in association with the Bombay Elektrik Projekt. All Bollywood film buffs are invited.
