The blockbuster vampire franchise Twilight has not only topped box offices and given a new breed of superstars to the world, it is also providing inspiration to new parents when it comes to baby names.
When the Social Security Administration released its annual list of the most popular baby names, the big winners were Isabella and Jacob, both characters in the 'Twilight' movie/novel franchises, reported Vanity Fair online.
A little more than 22,000 girls born in 2009 were named Isabella, followed by Emma, Olivia, Sophia and Ava. Nearly 21,000 boys were named Jacob, followed by Ethan, Michael, Alexander and William.
Isabella, a girl caught in a love triangle with a vampire and a werewolf is played by Kristen Stewart in the film, while Jacob, the werewolf, is played by Taylor Lautner.
Cullen, a reference to Robert Pattinson's character in a lovelorn vampire, is also placed well on the list.
The 'Twilight' film franchise is based on the bestselling series of novels of the same name by Stephenie Meyer.
