On Thursday, its second day, the great ‘Book Wall’ donation drive continued to receive good response.
Students from several schools and colleges visited Ansal Plaza, the Wall’s site. A partnership between Hindustan Times and Aviva’s Street to School program, the project aims to help educate thousands of uneducated children who cannot afford to buy reading material. The students of the Hillgrove School in Safdarjung Enclave, were the first ones to arrive. “I feel privileged to be a part of this unique drive,” said Nikhil Singh, a class XI student. Later, students from the Shivani Vidya Niketan, Chattarpur, and shoppers, dropped by. Model Mehar Bhasin arrived in the evening. On Monday, the books will be handed over to the NGO, Save the Children.
