Before the rumours around Varun dating his Student of The Year (SOTY) co-actor Alia Bhatt could have died down, the grapevine is now abuzz with the report that the 25-year-old actor might be dating South actor Taapsee Pannu. The two could recently be seen dining at a restaurant in Mumbai.

“Taapsee and Varun looked quite comfortable in each other’s company. And this is not the first time...they are going out as and when their schedule permits. Varun too visited Taapsee on the movie set a couple of times” says a source.

When we contacted Taapsee’s spokesperson, she confirmed that the actor and Varun are just good friends who like hanging out with each other and the rumours of the two dating are baseless. “They are currently focussing on their respective careers,” she adds.

Taapsee is making her Bollywood debut as the female lead in Varun’s father — filmmaker David Dhawan’s next release Chasme Baddoor, alongside actor Ali Zafar.

At the time of the release of his debut film, SOTY, it was reported that Varun is committed to a Mumbai girl called Sara since the past two years, but the actor never confirmed the same.
