Pakistani actress Veena Mallik will make her debut in a Bollywood film titled, Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai. Apparently, it’s also the first film where a debutant actor has played a double role. She is currently in Mumbai to work out the modalities of the project. Confirms Veena, “I am really exited about my debut on the Indian big screen. It will be very challenging playing two different characters, which are completely different from each other. I hope my fans love it.” The comedy, to be directed by Anand Balraj, doesn’t have a male lead. “The movie doesn’t have a typical Bollywood track of a hero and a heroine. It revolves around the two roles that I play,” says Veena.
After Bigg Boss, and the cricket World Cup reality show Big Toss, this is Veena’s third project in India. “Even before doing Bigg Boss, I was very keen on working in Bollywood. After the show ended, I was offered work in almost every reality show, whether it was Comedy Circus or Khatron Ke Khiladi. Right now quantity doesn’t matter, it’s quality that I’m looking for,” the scandal-loving starlet says. Over the years, Veena has worked in numerous Pakistani TV shows and films. “The Pakistani film industry is very small compared to Bollywood. I have done two hit films and two major shows back home.”
Daal Mein Kuch Kaala Hai is scheduled to release by January 2012. Veena will be in India till then.
