Ever wondered what is it that keeps pop star-turned-designer Victoria Beckham’s skin glowing all the time? The secret has been revealed by none other than Beckham herself. The 37-year-old recently tweeted about Japanese Camellia oil, a product that has helped her through all her pregnancies. “Pregnancy tip! I have used this through every pregnancy, it’s amazing.”
What’s Camellia oil?
“Camellia Oil is basically the tea seed oil, which nourishes hair and skin. It is beneficial for women who suffer from acne, spots on face. But the oil also helps in lightening the acne and spot marks and even helps remove stretch marks, dark circles and fine lines,” says beauty expert Manju Rawat.
For skin care apart from clearing stretch marks, this multi-purpose oil can be used for other reasons also. Naresh Arora, consultant dermatologist, says, “One can also use it as night cream, take a few drops on wet cotton and leave it overnight, the oil also removes make-up and can be used directly on the skin. One can use it as a primer also before make-up as it repairs the skin and gives instant glow. Just one drop of this oil is sufficient. It can also be used as a sunscreen as it blocks the ultraviolet rays and combats blotches and freckles.”
Hair care and more Camellia oil is great for hair too. Makeover expert Aashmeen Munjaal says, “One can apply this oil as a hair serum as it keeps them silky and nourished. It is also used to strengthen and promote healthy growth of fingernails by massaging the oil into the nails. You can apply it on the dry parts of the skin also to see wonderful results like on your cracked feet.”
