Vikram Bhatt had a little bit of explaining to do, or so the identity thief intended.
An unidentified person used the filmmaker's name and picture and sent women invites on Blackberry messenger on Saturday.
Once he established contact, he proceeded to send them lewd messages. He targeted 26 young women looking for a break in the industry.
One of starlets had Bhatt's original Blackberry pin and contacted him about the BB misbehaviour.
"It was on Saturday night that someone posed as Bhatt and started adding various girls. The person even used his picture on the display," a source revealed to Mumbai Mirror, "The girls some of them known to Vikram accepted his invitation, only to be shocked by the weird messages he was sending them. One of the girls who knew Vikram called him and informed him as she also had the director's actual Blackberry PIN. Four other girls have informed Vikram about the same incident."
The tabloid contacted Bhatt, who said, "I filed a complaint yesterday morning to the cyber cell. The person even had my picture on his display and he randomly added some girls. He started talking to them saying that he was Vikram Bhatt and he would launch them. Luckily for me, some common friends were able to inform me on my original PIN number. I was worried because he was speaking to these girls in an inappropriate manner. I have found out about four such girls and apologised to them, but I wish to inform the remaining ones that it is not me. Also, if any of them have the said imposter still on their list, they should immediately delete the person and complain to the cops."
Any ideas on who might want to be Vikram Bhatt?
