Cricketer Virender Sehwag has hit a rough patch in his career with injury troubling his T20 prospects and his omission from the list of probables from the Champion’s Trophy in June. His better half, Aarti, has however decided to be his pillar of strength during this time. “My husband is upset because playing is his passion and he has always been passionate only about cricket in life. As a wife, it’s important for me to support him in this phase. I tell him that things will get better, ups and downs come in everybody’s life,” she says.
“When somebody is going through any kind of problems, then instead of showing them your stress, it’s better to be positive. I bring positivity around him to make him feel better,” she adds.
Aarti is hopeful that the Delhi team for which Sehwag plays, will perform well at the ongoing T20 tournament. “I have always wished him all the luck. So this year hopefully, Delhi will do well and reach the finals. All the best to my champion and the Delhi Daredevils,” she says.
We ask if she’s friends with the wives and girlfriends of other cricketers. “We do catch up but everybody is in a different city. Gautam (Gambhir) and Natasha stay in Delhi, so they come over or we go to their place often. I’m friends with others as well and we meet nicely and hang out whenever we can,” says the mother of two sons.
