Madhur BhandarkarStanding in long queues to wait for auditions is passé. Stardom is now just a click away. With filmmakers exploring the Internet as a larger medium to explore talent across the globe, a new website abmeribaari.com has been conceived as a bridge between the entertainment industry and talented individuals.

“The company collaborates with filmmakers, TV producers, music companies, etc to get them new talent. This unique initiative will be done through direct screen tests over the Internet,” said Preet Bedi, managing director of abmeribaari.com.

The website will conduct regular talent searches, in which people can participate — following the same process as screen tests/ auditions — and win lucrative talent management contracts. Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, music composer Anu Malik and choreographer Saroj Khan will mentor the contestants.

Actor Suneil Shetty who is also an investor in the initiative said, “I had to struggle for years to get one opportunity to showcase my talent. This is a platform to screen test from the safety and security of one’s home.”

To register, one needs to follow the specific brief from the director, explaining what the applicant for the opportunity needs to do to apply. The applicant will then have to shoot himself or herself doing the screen test/audition, and upload the video.

“As a film maker, I am constantly looking for talent. This will make things easier for everyone,” said Bhandarkar.
