The Balaji Telefilms owner shut herself in her bathroom, immersed herself in sea water, reciting mantras, a news daily reports.
Apparently, Ekta went on to explain that during a solar eclipse, one should be near swirling sea water. And since it was impossible for her to go out to the sea at that "unearthly hour", she got some sea water into her mother's bathroom and put it in the jacuzzi.
Ekta wanted to be at Varanasi or Bodh Gaya which was not possible. So she recited mantras in her house. A spiritual Ekta believes that during those six minutes in the morning when natural light is completely snatched away from earth (during the eclipse), sound energy needs to be amplified. Mantras recited during those six minutes are more effective than during normal times, says Ekta who recited hard.
"It was a very special day. I normally wake up at around 8:30 am. I was up at 5 am in anticipation of the eclipse. Do you know the next complete solar eclipse will happen in 2132? God knows what the world would be like then! This was the first and last solar eclipse of this millennium," she quips
