Ehsaan Noorani began his career by playing guitar for ads and film scores before teaming up with Shankar and Loy in 1989. The trio have now composed everything from music for films (Dil Chahta Hai, Rock On!!), to the song for the closing of the Commonwealth Games and the anthem of the ICC Cricket World Cup. This year, Ehsaan became the first Indian to have a signature line guitar – the Fender Squier electric guitar – from the biggest guitar company in the world

One word that describes you best?

Creative.

If a traffic constable hauled you up, what would you do?

Pull out my guitar from the backseat and sing one of our songs for him.

What makes you feel sexy?

My signature line of Fender Squier electric guitars!

EhsaanThe colour ‘pink’ for you is...

The colour of the antacid syrup that I hate taking.

A place where you would like to be lost for a month?

Africa for sure. But I hope I find my way back

One tune you can’t get out of your head?

My driver’s mobile ringtone. I wake up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat because it keeps resounding in my head.

You are late for work and all the roads are jammed. Choose a mode of transport: a cycle, a horse or a skateboard. Why?

I am done with horsing around and a skateboard will not be too good on Mumbai’s potholes. I guess a cycle would be best.

Which superhero would you like to be and why?

A combination of Superman and Invisible Man so I can fly and probably won’t need to run into a telephone booth to change into a corny outfit.

The last time you rode on a bus?

At the Commonwealth Games in a bus loaded with singers and musicians. It was a memorable journey of 15 minutes.

Share a secret with us... you can trust us, we’ll only print it!

My mind right now is blank... That’s a secret! Print it!

You get high on...

Fresh air – whenever I get the chance to breathe it!

What makes your day?

My morning conversation with my cat. It’s completely and totally intelligent.

What screws it up?

That knowledge that after six years, the same person calls up my home phone practically twice a week and gets yelled at by me for

calling a wrong number.

Your first kiss was...

Mind-blowingly euphoric!

Love is...

... An emotion that has to be selfless.

If you were the last person left on earth, what would you do?

Connect all the guitar amps in the world, plug in my guitar and play some loud heavy metal. Maybe someone from another planet might hear it and rescue me!

If you could have had a star perform at your wedding, who would it have been?
BB king, king of the blues. He has energy and soul

Life in the fast food lane: choose your menu
Keema pau for breakfast. Burger & fries for lunch, pizza for dinner

Your favourite freedom fighter?
Nelson mandela, who got rid of inequality in a non-violent manner.
