After Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) clinched a victory over Kings XI Punjab, KKR owner and Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan on Saturday said that former KKR skipper Sourav Ganguly, who came to see the match at Eden Gardens, had brought the team good luck.
"Sourav brought luck. He was sitting far away from me, so we could not talk today. But definitely, I will talk to him soon," says Shah Rukh. Incidentally, Sourav was a part of the Kolkata Knight Riders till last season but isn’t a part of the current season, after the team didn’t bid for him at the auctions held earlier this year.
Shah Rukh also expressed his happiness now that his team was playing well. "I am a sportsman at heart. Whenever I was sad, which was quite often, it was because we didn’t get together as a team," says Shah Rukh.
He also asserted that for him playing well as a unit was more important than winning. "Even if we don’t win this time, I would be okay because this time we are playing well as a team. Gautam (Gambhir) and all the young boys are trying and playing hard," says Shah Rukh.
