Shah Rukh Khan had to change his plans on Independence Day to visit theatres across the city, as the owners of High Street Phoenix mall in Lower Parel asked him not to visit. “On the holiday the mall was expecting around 1.5 lakh people throughout the day. The owners restricted the star and his entourage, lest his visit cause a ruckus,” says a source close to the actor.

The mall had apparently suffered serious damage when Salman Khan had visited when Ek Tha Tiger (2012) released, reveals the source. “Have to avoid visiting PVR Phoenix Kurla and PVR Phoenix Lower Parel. Independenceday rush etc. Will see you at rest of the enlisted theaters (sic),” Shah Rukh posted on Twitter.
