Troubled British singer Amy Winehouse has been charged with assault for allegedly striking a fan at a charity ball here last year.
The 25-year-old is expected to appear in court March 17 and is accused of hitting Sherene Flash, who had asked for a photograph with the singer, reports contactmusic.com.
Winehouse allegedly punched Flash, a 30-year-old dancer, in the arm and cheek at the annual ball at Berkeley Square in September last year.
Winehouse has had numerous run-ins with the law in the past too. She has previously been arrested after a series of incidents involving drugs and assault claims but was never charged.
