Country singer Taylor Swift and actor-singer Selena Gomez emerged trumps at the Teen Choice Awards on Sunday, in California, with Swift scooping up six surfboard trophies and Gomez winning five.
Accepting her Ultimate Teen Choice surfboard, Swift, 21, thanked her fans and joked that “it’s been a long time since I was a teenager, like two years.”
Teen sensation Justin Bieber too scooped up four surfboards.
But perhaps the most poignant honour was a special ‘Inspire’ trophy that went to singer-actor Demi Lovato, who had a publicised breakdown last year.
The awards are a medium for artists, who are popular with kids, to thank their fans.
