“I got a good salary package but my interests were different. I started workout at a gym. I gave three auditions in a row but did not get selected finally I was selected by Neha Dhupia team when I picked cricketer Harbhajan Singh on my shoulders and started squat,” Mehta added.
Her mother Krishna Mehta, a teacher, said, “We faced a lot of societal pressure when Shweta started wearing bikinis at shows. But she always said that one day we will feel proud of her and that day has finally arrived. This is also a lesson for the girls who can prove themselves.”
Shweta said she also got an opportunity to become an actress in Bollywood, but she wanted to start her own clothing business besides continue her gymming hobby.
