He has a 60-inch chest and a 22-inch arm frame, but Jay Cutler is as sweet as the boy next door. The top guy at the International Federation of Body Builders and four-time Mr Olympia turned Hollywood actor landed in Delhi yesterday, and won’t leave till he’s seen the best of India. “I’m not leaving India unless I have seen the Taj Mahal, the Golden Temple, and Goa,” says the 38-year-old.
Cutler, who recently attended Sheru Classic, a bodybuilding championship in Mumbai, is on his way to making it big in Hollywood. “I have signed a five-film contract with Universal Studios, which includes Hercules 2. I am pretty excited about this film. The shooting for the movie will start in December in Los Angeles,” he shares.
Apart from promoting body building in India, there is a lot more in his agenda. Cutler has some culinary plans as well. “I have heard a lot about Indian food. I want to sample all sorts of cuisines,” he says. Ask him whose body he finds drool-worthy in Hollywood, and his pick is actor-wrestler John Cena. “It’s tough to find his match,” he says.
Cutler is also impressed by the rigorous fitness routine followed by Bollywood actors. “I have heard that Indian actors spend a lot of time body building. That’s inspiring,” says the body builder.
Cutler says it was his family's concrete construction business that showed him the way to body building. “When I was growing up, I used to help my family in construction work. I was very fond of lifting heavy items. Later, I got hooked to the gym and there was no looking back since then” he says. His message to all aspiring body builders is, “If I can do it, so can you. It’s only hard work and dedication that leads to success."
And does the strong man fear his wife, like all good husbands? “My wife Kerry is my friend from High School. We know each other from our teenage years and are very close to each other. It’s her support that’s helped me in my journey so far,” smiles Cutler, who’s top fashion picks are LV shoes and Gucci glasses.
