Tiger Woods’ mistress Rachel Uchitel has finally revealed her life story, which involves the death of her fiance in the September Twin tower attack that left her into a series of bad relationships, including her doomed love affair with the golfer.
“People have called me all sorts of names, but they don’t know me. I am not the same as the other girls and I never ever imagined in my wildest dreams that I would be caught up in a scandal like this,” the Daily Mail quoted her as saying.
On September 9, 2001, privately-educated Rachel was working as a television producer for the Bloomberg News channel and engaged to be married to 32-year-old investment banker Andrew O’Grady. He was killed in the Twin Towers attack.
Ever since, she has been trying to fill the void left in her life with a series of affairs with unsuitable men – of which her doomed love affair with Tiger Woods is just one.
“If things had been different and 9/11 had never happened, my life would have taken a different course. I’d be fat and happy, living in a big house in Long Island with a load of kids, she said.
“I’m only telling my story now so that people can discover what sort of girl I am and learn the truth about me. If they still choose to hate me, then so be it. But I never set out to hurt anyone.
“People don’t really understand love addiction, but I think a lot of women will relate to it.
“Instead of filling themselves with booze or drugs, love addicts become emotionally invested in a series of bad relationships."Since I lost Andy, I have always been looking for the perfect man. I wanted a man who would marry me, give me the house and children I long for. I plunged headfirst into relationships which I should never have been in."
When asked her if she regrets sleeping with a married man, she said "Yes, of course, I will never, ever do that again".
She also insists she ‘mostly’ went home alone, but it was as nightclub hostess that she met Tiger Woods and embarked on their affair.
According to friends, the golfer bombarded her with texts and emails promising to leave his wife and calling her his ‘soul mate’.
“They were both emotionally immature. Tiger was trapped in an unhappy marriage and Rachel worshipped him. They both thought they had found the love of their lives and got caught up in the drama,” according to a source.
“I really want people to like me,” Rachel said.
“I put out this tough image but I really didn’t set out to have the life I’ve had.
“Women don’t like me because they see me as a threat. But I just want to be loved and that got me into trouble because I made some bad choices in men. What woman doesn’t understand that?” she added.
