Supermodel Kate Moss has made many a fitness freak turn green with her new $2 million (R9 crore) home gym, but she isn’t the only one spending big on the workout. Indian stars, too, have been investing in hi-tech home gyms of late, even if theirs don’t amount to Moss’ fairytale fitness haven. The swankiest of all private gyms in Bollywood is known to belong to Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan. Both the Khans have spent more than a crore on bringing the most advanced equipment home. “Salman’s gym at his Panvel farmhouse is huge. Shah Rukh’s gym is plush, and has heavy duty equipment,” says a source close to the Khans, wishing not to be named.
Another hot bod in business, Hrithik Roshan, too, has a fancy personal gym. “He is very particular about his fitness regime. He has installed machines from the best brands. His gym is worth over a crore,” says celeb fitness expert Satyajit Chaurasia. Aamir Khan’s home gym is worth an estimated R55 lakh, while Ajay Devgn’s cost him around R50 lakh.
Actor Tusshar Kapoor’s trainer Pramod Dadlani, says, “He has got an advanced locally-made treadmill and a multi-functional bench installed at his home gym, worth around R20 lakh. Importing equipment costs a lot.” Zayed Khan is another guy who “has a multi-jungle gym with compact jungle equipment,” according to a source.
It’s not just the men who have a swanky gym at their place. while Rani Mukerji’s home gym is worth around R30 lakh, Esha Deol’s cost her close to R25 lakh. The svelte Shilpa Shetty Kundra also has a stylish home gym. Not to forget, the industrial big guns, too, have expensive home gyms to boast of. “Anil Ambani has a hi-tech gym with some of the best machines in the world. It’s worth well over a crore,” says Chaurasia.
