In every competition, there is only one winner, but chief guest Akshay Kumar, who graced the Dance India Dance Li’l Masters finale on Sunday evening in Pune, made sure that all five contestants —Faizal Khan, Rohan Parkale, Soumya Rai, Om Chettri and Jeet Das — walked away as champions. Impressed with the kids’ dancing skills at the event, he made an unexpected announcement.
A source from the channel says, “Before leaving, Akshay told the channel’s representatives that each of the finalists was extraordinary and that he wanted them to be part of a promotional song for his upcoming film, Oh My God — OMG!” Later, Grandmaster Mithun Chakraborty went on stage and announced the same, just before naming Faizal as the winner.
Ashvini Yardi, CEO of Akshay’s production company, Grazing Goat Pictures, confirms the news and says, “It was a very impromptu decision. Akshay really liked the performances and he came up with the offer. The finalists will feature in the promo video, which will be shot soon. This song, called ‘Don’t worry’, is composed by Himmesh Reshammiya and will be used only for promotions. It won’t be in the film, like the ‘Go go govinda’ song picturised on Sonakshi Sinha and Prabhudheva, which is already creating waves on air.”
The video will be shot at Film City. Other than the five finalists and Akshay, Paresh Rawal will be part of the song.
