Here’s makeup inspiration from the recently-concluded Paris Haute Couture Week — from glitter to colour play and vintage vibes.fashion and trends Updated: Jul 11, 2017 18:35 IST
Apart from the avant garde designer collections, there is a lot of beauty inspiration from Paris Haute Couture Week every year. Here are looks that are refreshing, courageous and innovative — all from the Parisian ramp. Take note for your next party.
Galia Lahav — Colour blocking
Designer Galia Lahav’s Haute Couture show saw models rocking colour-blocked makeup. Electric blue cat-eye liner teamed with scarlet lips took over the runway. High on highlighter and bronzer, sleek straight, side-parted hair completed the look. A good way to ward off the monsoon blues, right?
Karl Lagerfeld — Eye candy
We know what you’re thinking. It seems a bit much! But there’s a lesson here — not restricting the eyeshadow to your eyelid’s crease line and blending bold colours fearlessly. German designer Karl Lagerfeld’s models donned tricoloured eye shadow. You, too, could try a toned-down version of the same.
Ulyana Sergeenko — Bold brows and deep lip
Bold brows paired with a deep marsala lipcolour — this was the mood at Russian designer Ulyana Sergeenko’s show. Finish off the look by highlighting your nose, temples and chin. Remember, with makeup like this, go easy on the accessories.
Xuan-Thu Nguyen — The red eye
Dutch-Vietnamese designer Xuan-Thu Nguyen’s muses on the ramp went for a bare face with bold red eyeshadow. While this look might best suit the ramp, actors Kristen Stewart and Deepika Padukone have also tried a more sober version in the past. The idea is to get a hint of red all around the eye, and the result will be edgy, on-trend look.
Jean Paul Gaultier — Glitter high
Taking the shimmer route never hurts. So, just like the models at French designer Jean Paul Gaultier’s show, add golden glitter to your hairline (yes, you can keep it minimal) and opt for nude lips to keep the face balanced. Go for a soft smokey look to define the eyes, and you’re good to go.
