Conformity is the only real fashion crime. To not dress like yourself is succumbing to fashion fascism,” believes writer and fashion commentator Simon Doonan. We can’t agree more, as we present to you season 2 of HT City Print Fashion Week, a unique fiesta that features bridal and cocktail collections of India’s top designers.

Bringing you inspiration to break free from fashion clichés, we showcase Bollywood’s favourite couturier Manish Malhotra’s Winter/Festive 2016 collection on Day 1. Blending old and new in an enchanting mix, the collection celebrates Indian craftsmanship teamed with silhouettes designed keeping in mind the modern, uninhibited wedding entourage. Adorned with resham threadwork, floral motifs and intricate hand embroidery, it re-imagines traditional wear in a modern context.

These elegant velvet bandhgalas adorned with intricate embroidery worn with straight fit pants make for a classic yet modern pick for fashion-forward men, who dread looking like everyone else in a sparkly gathering.

Who says a sari can’t look modern enough in a glam setting? Sari gets an imaginative makeover in this creation. Teamed with a long jacket with stone embellishments, it’s equal parts drama and traditional charm.
