Imagine getting a discount as huge as 90 per cent on a Rohit Gandhi outfit or Jean Paul Gaultier creation or even a Tarun Tahiliani sari anytime of the year! India’s first multi-designer discount retail outlet has opened doors at the Ambavatta complex that will offer humongous discounts - ranging fronm 30 to 90 per cent - on designer wear throughout the year.

Called the Design Vault, the store is a brainchild of Tarun Tahiliani’s sister Tina Tahiliani who also owns the store Ensemble. Such huge discounts have left many wondering if the garments are of inferior quality or second hand? Tina rubbishes the rumours and reasons, “Some times designers over produce, or the export order gets rejected and after one season you can’t really rack them in your stores, so it’s better to sell it them at a good discount then see them turn yellow and grey in your ware house. The garments are absolutely high quality and they are part of the same lot, it’s just that some of them are a couple of seasons old.”

Brands available at the store include Payal Jain, Varun Bahl, The Ensemble Design Studio, Anna Singh, Rajesh Pratap Singh, Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Lanvin amongst others.
